Hillary Campaign Song Round 1: Vote for the Top 20!

A lot of has happened since our unofficial Hillary Campaign Song contest began. Hillary Clinton gave a fantastic speech on Roosevelt Island in New York. We've heard more specific policy ideas from her. She's traveled back to the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. And, on the fun side of things, Hillary has joined Instagram and even released a Spotify playlist (you'll notice that a few of those songs are on our list).

Over the course of the first two weeks of June, songs were sent in. When all was said and done, 41 songs have made the list. (I disqualified a small handful of submissions for a variety of reasons, which I said could happen. If you feel I unfairly disqualified your song submission, let me know.)

Now that the song ideas are in, it's time to start voting to narrow down the list until we eventually get to just one song that we Hillary supporters believe should be her 2016 campaign song. Here's how this will work. Each round will last a week, with Round 1 consisting of the initial 41 songs--and you can vote for more than one! (Don't feel like you have to limit yourself right now.) After Round 1 is over, the results will determine the Top 20, so half will be eliminated.

Voting for Round 1 is open from Monday, June 22 at 10am to Monday June 29 at 10am. Use the form below to vote. And feel free to share this blog post on all of your social media pages so that as many Hillary supporters as possible can participate. (Use the hashtag #HillaryCampaignSong.)

Scroll below the form for links to all the songs and to read the lyrics--reading the lyrics can be useful in seeing if a song is fitting for a campaign because upon a closer look you might realize that a song's message doesn't fit all that well. Also, if one of the links doesn't work or the video isn't available anymore after opening the link, please let me know so I can correct it.

Keep in mind that I am not affiliated with Hillary Clinton or Hillary for America, so these polls are not being used by the campaign to find an official song; this is just for us to show our support and have some fun along the way. But if anybody from the campaign wants to take these results into consideration, please do!

What Should Hillary Clinton's Campaign Song Be? Submit Now!

It's been almost two months since Hillary Clinton entered the 2016 presidential race. So far, I'm loving how Hillary and her team are running the campaign. We've seen her visit states like Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina--we even got to see the Scooby Van! There are over 500 days until Election Day 2016, which means we're still in the early days of the race, so why not have some fun?

Some political campaigns have campaign songs. Probably the most famous of them all is Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow)" for Bill Clinton's presidential run.

Why don't we try and find a song for Hillary? I gave clues on Twitter last week teasing this project. So here's what's going to happen: right now, you can send in songs that you think would be great choices for her campaign. You can submit as many as you want; just make sure to include both the song title and the artist who sang it.

You can send in your submissions using the form below. And feel free to share this blog post on all of your social media pages so that as many Hillary supporters as possible can participate. (Use the hashtag #HillaryCampaignSong.)

This preliminary submission period will last for two weeks (until June 15 at 10am). Once the submission period is closed, I will gather all the songs into a list (along with audio clips so you can listen to them all), and over the course of several weeks this summer, we'll all vote to narrow down the list until only one remains--the song that we believe should be Hillary's 2016 campaign song.

Keep in mind that I am not affiliated with Hillary Clinton or Hillary for America, so these surveys/polls are not being used by the campaign to find an official song; this is just for us Hillary supporters to show our support and have some fun along the way.

So start sending in your song submissions now using the form below! Remember: you can send as many as you want.

(I reserve the right to disqualify any song submissions that are obviously meant to be demeaning/sexist/etc. towards Hillary.)
